

ABOUT
Fida Alwaer is an artist from Homs, Syria living in Beirut. She studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Homs and is currently teaching art in Beirut and Saida.

Her medium is oil and acrylic paint as well as charcoal. She paints and draws on canvas and newspaper. The common theme found in her work is human rights, specifically women's rights.
Fida has participated in several symposiums in South Lebanon and has also taken part in the following exhibitions in Beirut this past year: Kolohon Rabea, Roghm Alalm... Anti Alamal, Children's Cancer Center Lebanon, Fine Art 'By Colors' Corner: Sixth, and Forum of All Colors. She has also showcased her work in exhibitions abroad including I am here in Krakow, Poland and Sikka18 in Dubai.

Her approach encourages children to share their personal stories through art, helping them realise they are not the only ones in a difficult situation.

Interested in learning Arabic? Fida offers one-to-one or small group classes for English speakers in both Levantine & Modern Standard Arabic.
